Airport
If you are arriving by air, Tampa International Airport (TPA) is 9 miles northwest of Tampa cruise port. Transfers by taxi take about 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions along the I-275. The flat rate is currently $28.
There may be a shuttle bus provided by your cruise line, so check with them first.

Train

The Silver Star is a 1,522-mile (2,449 km) passenger train route in the Silver Service brand operated by Amtrak, running from New York City south to Miami, Florida via the Northeast Corridor to Washington, D.C., then via Richmond, Raleigh, Columbia, Savannah, Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa, Florida.
The nearest mainline station to the Cruise Terminal is Union Station which is located at 601 North Nebraska Avenue, Tampa, FL 33602-3555. Tampa Union Station was restored and reopened to the public in 1998. Its about a mile from the cruise terminal so it is walkable and would take you about 15 to 20 minutes.
